Responsible Business

1. Our commitment
LuxCeylon facilitates legitimate commerce and sustainable development in Sri Lanka. We comply with applicable sanctions regimes. We decline business that is inconsistent with this mission.
This is a commercial position as well as an ethical one. Our reputation with hotels, institutions and clients depends on it.
2. Client verification
For business travel bookings we verify three things before confirmation. The corporate identity of the client. The named travellers. The stated business purpose.
We screen names and entities against the EU consolidated sanctions list, OFAC, and UN lists.
We treat this as a professional standard, not an inconvenience. Clients who work to this standard themselves recognise it immediately.
3. Right to decline
We reserve the unconditional right to decline or terminate service in the following circumstances.
- Where identity cannot be verified.
- Where we have concerns regarding source of funds.
- Where sanctions exposure exists.
- Where an engagement is inconsistent with this policy.
We are not obliged to state reasons.
4. Introductions to public institutions
LuxCeylon does not sell, bill, or otherwise commercialise introductions to government bodies, regulators, or public institutions. Where we believe a meeting would serve the legitimate interests of both parties, we may propose an introduction. Any such meeting takes place solely at the invitation and discretion of the institution concerned. Introductions are never a component of any paid programme, are never a condition or inducement of sale, and no cost relating to them is charged to any client, directly or indirectly. LuxCeylon's paid services are limited to travel, hospitality, logistics, and event coordination.
5. Sustainable development
Our travel philosophy is high value and locally sourced. Smaller groups, longer stays, local suppliers, local guides. Value stays in the country rather than passing through it.
That approach aligns with Sri Lanka's own development direction, which favours quality over volume. We write about this in more detail in Sustainable development and the responsible business traveller.
